Boycott corrupt people, president says on Int’l Anti-Corruption Day

President Abdul Hamid has urged people to boycott corrupt individuals to rid the country of corruption.
"We must despise bribery, corruption, and nepotism. Corruption and development cannot co-exist," he said.
The Anti-Corruption Commission held a discussion at Shilpakala Academy, marking the International Anti-Corruption Day 2022 where the president's speech was screened.
"Once upon a time, there was zero acceptance of corrupt individuals, but that has gradually faded; triumphs of riches can be seen everywhere--village and town. No one cares about the source of money--whether it is ill-gotten," he said.
Noting that it was not practical for the ACC and the government to fight corruption alone, Abdul Hamid said, "Everyone should actively extend their hand of cooperation to eliminate corruption."
He also asked the ACC to take bolder steps in curbing corruption. "It must not discriminate between the rich and the poor when taking action."
