
Police recovered bodies of two unidentified youths from Cox's Bazar sea beach this morning (May 24, 2022).
Of the two bodies, one was found at Jhaubon of Kabita Chattar near Cox's Bazar town while another was recovered from the beach at Shafirbeel point in the district's Ukhiya upazila, our Cox's Bazar staff correspondent reports quoting police.
Sheikh Munirul Gias, officer-in-charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, said locals found a young man hanging from a tree in Jhaubon adjacent to Kabita Chattar this morning and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body of the youth, aged around 20-25, around 9 am and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC.
The police official said they are trying to identify the youth.
Oliur Rahman, sub-inspector of Inani police camp, said that after being informed by locals, a police team recovered the body of a youth from the beach at Shafirbeel Government Primary School point around 8 am and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
"Initially, it is believed that the youth may be a tourist. Police are investigating the matter," added SI Oliur.
