Bodies of 2 missing madrasa students recovered from Meghna
The bodies of two madrasa students of Narsingdi were recovered after they went missing while taking bath in Meghna river on Thursday (October 27, 2022).
The body of Ghalib (15) was found around 2pm yesterday (October 28, 2022, and Shahidul Islam Mahfuz (17) from the river at Bobkashalipur in Alokbabali union at 11am today (October 29, 2022), said Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Narsingdi Model Police Station.
Ghalib is the son of Azizul Haque, a newspaper agent of Doripara village in Ghorashal municipality area of Palash upazila while Shahidul is the son of Harun Mia of Baraitola village in Raipura upazila.
The two were the students of Ghoradia Muhammadia International Tahfuzul Quran Madrasa in Sadar upazila, reports our Narsingdi correspondent.
In response to the family's request, their bodies were handed over to them without any autopsy.
According to police and family sources, 32 people, including madrasa teachers, went to a picnic in Char Afzal of Alokbali union by an engine boat on Thursday.
The two were missing when all of them went to take a bath in Meghna river around 5pm.
The bodies were recovered during the rescue operation conducted by both police and fire service and civil defence, said OC Abul Kashem.
