Activities of all courts in Brahmanbaria, except Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1, will resume tomorrow after remainig suspended for 40 days.
The judicial activities at the district judge and chief judicial magistrate's courts in Brahmanbaria remained suspended since January 4, following an altercation between lawyers and court employees over misbehaviour with Judge Mohammad Faruque of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1.
The tribunal-1 will remain suspended as no action has yet been taken over the issue, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting Tanvir Bhuiyan, the president of Brahmanbaria District Bar Association.
The decision to resume the court activities was taken in a meeting of the association held this morning, following another meeting held yesterday at the district's circuit house in the presence of Law Minister Anisul Huq and local lawmaker RAM Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury.
"We were forced to take this step considering the sufferings of the judicial candidates of the district. We have already informed the minister and he has promised to take action within the next two days in this regard," he added
