Bangladeshi injured in Myanmar landmine blast along Bandarban border
A Bangladeshi man has been injured in a landmine explosion inside Myanmar at Jumchhari border area in Bandarban's Naikhongchhari upazila yesterday (November 7, 2022).
The injured was identified as Shona Ali (55), reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting Nurul Absar, chairman of Bandarban Sadar Union Parishad.
Quoting locals, Chairman Nurul Absar said that three of Shona Ali's cows from Jumchhari entered Myanmar through the area between the border pillars 46 and 47. Shona crossed the zero line of the border to bring the cows back. A land mine exploded leaving Shona Ali seriously injured at that time.
Locals rescued him from the spot and took him to Naikhongchhari Upazila Health Complex, he said.
Dr Tapan Kumar of the health complex said, "Shona Ali was severely injured due to the explosion. As his condition was critical, we referred him to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital."
Further details regarding the incident could not be known immediately.
