The government will not accept IMF loan with "hard conditions", Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said today.

The minister, however, didn't elaborate what he meant by "hard conditions."

Asked about what he means by hard conditions, he told the reporter to "apply common sense."

The minister was talking to reporters at his secretariat office.

There is crisis over dollars and pressure on foreign reserves, there is a necessity of loan, he said adding that "we will receive IMF loan but not with hard conditions."

"Discussion is going on. We will accept what is rational. There is no alternative but taking loan." he also said.

"We are aware about the conditions they [IMF] mentioned earlier. We will not accept any conditions that can hurt the country's interest," he added.
