Anti-liberation forces out to spoil Victory Day celebrations

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the anti-liberation forces are conspiring to ruin the Victory Day celebrations.

Quader, also the general secretary of the Awami League, said this after paying homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar.

Militants, communal forces and their patron, the BNP, are still hatching plots, Quader said.

"We will unite all the pro-liberation forces under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina against these evil forces and their patrons and resist them. Our pledge on the Victory Day will be to completely defeat these evil forces," he told reporters.

Earlier around 6:00am, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the martyrs at the National Memorial.
