Alor Pathshala: Summit Group, Prothom Alo Trust ink deal
Six schools of the Prothom Alo Trust-run "Alor Pathshala" is set to get financial assistance from Summit Group for the next two years.
Managing trustee of Prothom Alo Trust and editor of Prothom Alo Matiur Rahman signed the agreement on behalf of the trust, while four officials from different sister concerns of Summit Group signed on behalf of the donor company at a ceremony in the capital yesterday, a press release said.
Summit Group's signees were Lt General (retd) Abdul Wadud, Managing Director of Summit Power Limited; ANM Tariqur Rashid, managing director of Summit Meghnaghat Power; SM Noor Uddin, managing director and CEO of Summit Bibiyana Power Company Limited; and Md Reaz Uddin, CEO of Summit Meghnaghat Power. Director of Summit Group and member of its CSR committee Azeeza Aziz Khan; chairperson of Prothom Alo Trust and Envoy Group, Kutubuddin Ahmed; associate editors of Prothom Alo and trustees Anisul Hoque and Abdul Quaiyum; senior general manager of Summit Corporation Colonel (retd) Jawad-Ul-Islam; and coordinator of Prothom Alo Trust Mahbuba Sultan were also present.
There are around 1,200 students from six schools, located at remote areas. Yesterday's agreement is a continuation of Summit's support for "Alor Pathshala" for the past 12 years.
