585 students died by suicide in 2022: Achol Foundation
Last year, 585 students from schools, colleges, universities and madrasas died by suicide, according to a survey conducted by Achol Foundation.
Among them, 340 were school students, 106 were college students, 85 were university students and 54 were madrasa students.
The foundation revealed the information through a press release sent to the media today.
Among the eight divisions, Dhaka has the highest percentage of school and college students dying by suicide at 23.77, followed by Chattogram division at 17.27 percent.
Last year 60.15 percent of the total suicide-related deaths were reported to be women.
According to the data obtained in the survey, students between the ages of 13 and 19 are the most likely to die by suicide.
