42nd BCS results published

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission yesterday published the final result of 42nd (Special) Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.

The commission recommended recruiting 4,000 assistant surgeons in the (health) cadre, said a PSC statement.

The government is recruiting 4,000 physicians in two phases under this special BCS eying to tackle the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The health ministry, primarily decided to recruit 2,000 doctors under the 42nd BCS, but the government later decided to recruit 2,000 more.

PSC sought applications of 42nd special BCS to recruit 2,000 physicians last year. Some 31,000 physicians sat for the preliminary exams held on February 26 this year. Of them, 6,022 passed the preliminary exams and took part in viva.
