315 extremists surrender with firearms

A total of 315 extremists surrendered along with their firearms in Sirajganj yesterday.
The surrendered are from Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogura, Tangail, Kusthia, Rajbari and the adjoining districts.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. They surrendered to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal during a programme at Rab-12 headquarters in Solonga, Sirajganj. They handed over a total of around 219 firearms on the occasion.
Welcoming the surrendered persons to the new life, the home minister assured them of rehabilitation.
The event chaired by M Khurshid Hossain, director general of Rab.
Earlier in 2019, over 500 extremists surrendered to the law enforcers.
