12 detained while entering Bangladesh from India, case filed against seven

Border Guard Bangladesh today detained 12 people including five children while they were entering Bangladesh through Kashipur border in Kurigram's Phulbari upazila.

The five children were released and handed over to their relatives through the upazila social welfare officer.

Kashipur BGB camp Company Commander Subedar Saidul Islam confirmed the news to our Lalmonirhat correspondent.

The BGB troops led by Habildar Masud Rana detained them and took them to BGB camp. BGB later filed a case against seven of them with Phulbari Police Station under the Passport Act and handed them over to the police.

Confirming the matter, Phulbari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rajib Kumar Roy said the five children were instructed to remain under institutional quarantine.
