PM’s leadership decreased maternal, child mortality rates: JS speaker
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various steps to provide healthcare to the people and under her able leadership, maternal and child mortality rates have decreased.
Speaking while inaugurating a healthcare camp at Shah Abdur Rauf College premises of Pirganj upazila in Rangpur, the speaker said the government's initiative regarding childhood immunisation programmes have been successful and the country's people have been properly administered the Covid-19 vaccine.
The healthcare camp was organised yesterday to mark 14th death anniversary of internationally renowned nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah.
Speaking as the chief guest, the speaker said providing free healthcare by doctors is a unique example in the service of humanity.
The speaker said community clinics are playing an important role in providing healthcare to the people.
She said 32 types of medicines are being provided to the people by the government on the instructions of the prime minister.
Thirty specialist doctors have come from Dhaka to provide healthcare at the camp.
