
In the wake of the joint security operation to eliminate terrorist elements in Bandarban, the ban on tourist travel in its two upazilas has been extended till December 4.
This information was made public in a notice signed by Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji today, reports our Bandarban correspondent.
Tourists are being banned from travelling to Ruma and Rowangchhari upazilas due to security reasons, according to the public notice, issued sixth time till now.
The decision was taken upon receiving an application from the Bandarban Cantonment, said the notice.
The tourism ban was first enforced on Rowangchhari and Ruma on October 18 as part of security measures. The Thanchi and Alikadam upazilas were added five days later.
On November 8, the authorities lifted the ban on Alikadam upazila. The travel ban on Thanchi was also lifted later.
