Chief justice decides to run HC functions on limited scale till August 5
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain today decided to run the judicial functions of the High Court on a limited scale till August 5 in order to deal with extremely urgent cases due to the ongoing lockdown enforced by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The chief justice took the decision while virtually presiding over a full court meeting attended by the judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court this afternoon.
The full court meeting decided that three judges of the HC Division will conduct three separate benches to hear and dispose of writ and civil petitions, criminal petitions and company and admiralty-related matters and will pass interim order during this period.
At the full court meeting, the judges also decided that vaccination of all officials and staffers of the SC will be completed by July 31.
