7 Addl IGPs, DIGs transferred
In a major reshuffle in the police force, seven additional inspectors general and seven deputy inspectors general (DIGs) have been transferred.
The home ministry issued the transfer orders today.
Among the additional IGPs, Humayan Kabir and Jamil Ahmed have been posted at the Police Headquarters, YM Belalur Rahman at the Rajarbagh Police Telecom and Information Management Headquarters, and Mir Rezaul Alam as principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda of Rajshahi.
Abu Hassan Muhammad Tariq was posted at the Police Headquarters, Shahabuddin Khan was made the chief of the Highway Police, while Mallick Faqrul Islam of the Highway Police was made the Rector of Police Staff College in Dhaka.
In a separate notification on the same day, seven officials with the rank of DIGs were given new duties.
The DIG of Sylhet Range Mofiz Uddin Ahmed was transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) as its DIG while DIG of the ATU Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman was made the new DIG of Sylhet Range.
DIG of the Police Headquarters Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan was posted to the Railway Police Headquarters as its DIG, while DIG of Railway Police Joydeb Kumar Bhadra was sent to the Police Headquarters as its DIG.
Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Nisharul Arif was transferred to the Police Training Centre in Khulna as commandant and the DIG of the Tourist Police Md Elias Sharif was made the commissioner of the SMP.
The home ministry also asked all the officers to join their new stations immediately.
