Next JS polls will be held both properly and on time: law minister

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said the next parliamentary election will be held both properly and on time under the constitution of the country.

"Bangladesh is a democratic country. Election is part of the usual process in democratic countries...We hope that all political parties will participate in the next election which will be held after the end of the current government's tenure," he said.

He came up with the remarks while exchanging new year greetings with officials, staff members and media at his ministry office in Bangladesh Secretariat.

"Democracy of Bangladesh has been flourished during the regime of Sheikh Hasina led governments. If anyone obstructs the people's right to vote, appropriate legal action will be taken against him/her...," he said.
