I will win by 1 lakh votes if polls are fair: Ivy
Dr Selina Hayat Ivy, the Awami League mayoral candidate in the upcoming Narayanganj City Corporation election said she will win by a margin of at least one lakh votes if the polls go fairly.
"If the election is free and fair and no centre is closed, then I will pass by a margin of one lakh votes. My uncle himself knows what my position is here," she said while replying to questions from journalists at her residence today, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.
Regarding independent candidate Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker's allegations, Ivy said, "I have a very strong personality and strong bonding with grassroot levels and others".
"It is not so easy to weaken me. Nothing can impact me," she said.
About the AL central leaders' meeting with Narayanganj deputy commissioner last night, Ivy said, "I don't know exactly what they talked about. Everyone knows who my leaders are, who came from Dhaka".
"Many have gone to different wards here. Everyone has seen what position Ivy is in here. My leaders are not apprehensive about my victory. They know it very well from the beginning that I will win," she added.
When asked whether central leaders are influencing the election, Ivy said, "I don't think they are influencing anyone. This is not correct".
