EC formation: Awami League proposes 10 names for CEC, commissioners

Awami League today proposed 10 names for the posts of chief election commissioner and other election commissioners for the formation of the next Election Commission.

An AL delegation led by its Information and Research Secretary Dr Salim Mahmud, submitted the names to the cabinet division around 12:30 pm, according to sources at the cabinet division.

Apart from AL, five political parties have already submitted their picks to the cabinet division.

The main opposition in parliament Jatiya Party and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) are among them.
