Tomorrow's SSC exams postponed in 6 boards

The government yesterday postponed Secondary School Certificate and equivalent exams slated for tomorrow (May 15) under six education boards due to Cyclone Mocha.
Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chief of the inter-education board coordination committee, said exams under the Chattogram, Cumilla, Barishal, Jashore, technical and madrasa education boards have been postponed.
On Friday, the authorities postponed the exams that were to be held today (May 14) under five education boards -- Chattogram, Cumilla, Barishal, technical, and madrasa – for the cyclone.
"Today [yesterday] we decided that exams under Jashore education board for May 14 [today] will also be postponed," said Tapan, also chairman of Dhaka education board.
He added that new dates for the exams would be announced later.
"As each board has separate question papers, exams under, exams under other boards will continue as per schedule."
The general education board exams slated for today were physics, history, and finance, while technical board students were set to sit for physics exam and madrasa students for English first paper.
On May 15, general education board students of were supposed to be tested on home economics, agriculture studies, Arabic, Sanskrit and other subjects. There are no exams scheduled on the day for madrasa or technical board students.
Meanwhile, the education ministry yesterday announced that all schools, colleges and universities under the jurisdictions of the Chattogram, Barishal, Cumilla and Jashore education boards will remain closed today.
