Mostafa Feeroz made JU Pro-VC

Professor Mohammed Mostafa Feeroz of the zoology department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has been appointed the pro vice-chancellor (Education) of the university.

A notification undersigned by Rokhsana Begum, deputy secretary of ministry of education, confirmed the appointment today.

According to Section 13 (1) of Jahangirnagar University Act 1973, President Mohammed Shahabuddin, also chancellor of the university, appointed Feeroz for the next four years, stated the notification.

He completed his BSc and MSc degree from JU zoology department. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Cambridge.

Feeroz is the founder of the Wildlife Rescue Centre (WRC). He has research interest in wildlife ecology, management and conservation, population genetics and bidirectional pathogen transfer.
