US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has called Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen this evening, a foreign ministry official has said.

The call came just days after the US imposed sanctions on Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and its 7 current and former top officials on human rights ground.

During the phone call, the two ministers agreed to work together, he said.

The details were not known immediately.
