Momen expresses deep condolences for lives lost to floods in Germany and China
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has expressed his deep condolences over the loss of lives due to floods in Germany and China.
Over 33 people died in heavy flooding in the Central Henan Province of China.
In a message sent to the State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi, Momen conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved families.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the government and people of China. We stand by the friendly people of China as they face this situation with courage and fortitude," Foreign Minister added.
Momen also expressed deep condolences at the tragic loss of lives in western Germany due to severe floods. More than 200 have lost their lives till now.
In a message sent to the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas, Momen conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.
"Our prayers are with those who are still missing, and those who suffered injuries or loss of homes," he added.
Foreign Minister expressed hope that with the German Federal and State Government's intensive efforts, the people affected will soon be able to overcome this difficult time.
