Information Minister inaugurates Bangabandhu Media Centre at Press Club of India

Information Minister Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman media centre at the Press Club of India in New Delhi today.

"The relationship between Bangladesh and India has reached new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina. This (Bangabandhu centre) will strengthen the relationship between the countries," he told the media at an event held at the Press Club on Raisina Road, our New Delhi correspondent reports.

The media centre will be equipped with modern facilities along with an exhibition hall and a library on the first floor of the Club.

Earlier, the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) established the "Bangabandhu Chair" at Delhi University to promote research and study related to Bangladesh.

A few other universities in India are also taking similar initiatives to jointly commemorate Mujib Barsho and the golden jubilee of the liberation of Bangladesh.

Hasan Mahmud arrived yesterday on a four-day visit to New Delhi, the first ministerial tour from Bangladesh since Modi visited Dhaka in March.
