India announces PM Hasina's 4-day visit from Sept 5
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay a four-day state visit to India from September 5 to 8, the Indian External Affairs Ministry announced today (September 1, 2022).
During her visit, Hasina will call on India's President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and hold bilateral consultations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, external ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told a media briefing.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will call on Hasina.
During the visit to India, the Bangladesh PM is also likely to visit Ajmer, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
In recent years, there have been an exchange of high-level visits between the two countries, including at the highest level, Bagchi said.
"The forthcoming visit of her excellency Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will further strengthen the existing multifaceted relationship between our two countries based on strong historical and cultural ties," Bagchi said.
Hasina had last visited India in October, 2019.
Former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Modi had visited Bangladesh between March and December 2021.
