Won't get my son back, I want justice, says Fardin’s father
Nuruddin Rana, father of BUET student Fardin Noor Parash, has demanded justice for his son.
"I will not get my son back, I want justice," the father said while talking to reporters on BUET campus this afternoon (November 8, 2022).
Fardin's phone, wallet, and watch all were found with him and nothing went missing, Nuruddin said.
"I have no idea -- who murdered him and why. I don't think I have any enemies. I didn't hurt anyone in any way. I've worked in journalism, but I've never produced any report that might be harmful to someone. I used to edit features for magazines; be optimistic. I always highlighted the nation's positive matters," he said.
Nuruddin continued, "Now that Bangladesh has gone digital, I want to find out his movement and see whether there is any video footage available. With whoever Fardin was in contact can be revealed by mobile phone tracking. I don't want to point out to anyone – actually, there's no one."
The body of Fardin, who went missing on Friday, was found floating on the Shitalakkhya river near Narayanganj's Siddhirganj.
A board comprising three doctors of Narayanganj General Hospital conducted his autopsy around 10:30am today. One of the doctors, Dr Farhad, said that Fardin had injury marks in his head and different parts of his body. There are also injury marks in his chest.
"Fardin died three days ago and was physically tortured before his death," he added.
