Woman raped in Lalmonirhat

A man raped a 40-year-old woman in Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat on October 9 this year, while two of his associates recorded the act on a mobile phone.

They later started blackmailing the victim and spread the video on Thursday (November 10, 2022).

The victim filed a case with with Aditmari Police Station on Saturday night (November 12, 2022) accusing three persons.

The accused are Asad Mia, 50, Milon Mia, 40, and Kulu Mia, reports our local correspondent quoting Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Rafiqul Islam.

According to the case statement, the victim is a homemaker who sewed kantha for people at her spare time.

On October 9, Asad Mia called her to his house to sew a kantha for him. When she went there, Asad locked her in a room and raped her. He recorded the act on a mobile phone with the help of Milon and Kulu, said the case statement.

OC Rafiqul said the accused are on the run. Police are conducting drives to arrest them, he added.
