Woman killed in train accident

A woman was killed after a train hit her in Chattogram's Mirsarai upazila yesterday.

The identity of the victim could not be known immediately, said police.

The victim is around 55 years old. She might have been hit by Dhaka-bound Chattala Express or Maimansingh-bound Bijoy Express, said Khorshed Alam, sub-inspector of Railway Police's Sitakunda Camp.

The victim was walking on the rail track when she was hit by the train. She died on the spot, he said quoting witnesses.

On information, police recovered the body, he further said.
