Police last night recovered bodies of a woman and a child from Deshipara area of Gazipur Sadar upazila.

The deceased could not be identified immediately, reports our local correspondent quoting police.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation), Syed Rafiul Karim, said that locals informed police after seeing the bodies in Deshipara area.

The bodies -- a woman around 27/28 years old and a child around 3/4 years old -- were later recovered by police and sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

After primary investigation, law enforcers suspect that they were killed somewhere else and the bodies were left in Deshipara. There were wounds on their necks, he said.

The cause of the incident is still unknown, said the inspector, adding that legal action has been taken in this regard.
