Upazila vice chairman sent to jail in DSA case in Dinajpur
A court in Dinajpur today sent an upazila vice chairman to jail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act in 2018.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Dinajpur Sohel Ismail Hossain sent Md Rabiul Islam Shohag (35), vice chairman of Dinajpur Sadar upazila, to jail when he appeared before the court to seek bail upon completion of his bail term, reports our Dinajpur correspondent quoting Moniruzzaman, court inspector of Dinajpur.
He was elected as the vice chairman of Dinajpur Sadar upazila in 2018.
On October 8, 2018, Azizul Imam Chowdhury, general secretary of Dinajpur district Awami League filed a case with Dinajpur Sadar Police Station against Shohag for forging the signature of AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
On February 9 this year, Investigation Officer of the case Inspector Md Mahbubur Rahman submitted a charge sheet against the Vice Chairman Shohag before a court. He was on bail until today.
