Two prisoners at Natore jail die after falling sick
Two prisoners -- one convict in a murder case and another accused in a drug case -- at Natore District Jail died at the Natore Sadar Hospital.
Ansar Sheikh, accused in the murder case, died around 4:00 am today while Osman Sheikh, sentenced for by a mobile court died around 8:00 pm last night, reports our local correspondent quoting Mohammad Abdur Rahim, jail superintendent of Natore District Jail.
Ansar Sheikh was in jail for 14 months as an accused in a murder case.
He felt chest pain last night and was admitted to the jail hospital and later shifted to Natore Sadar Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment early today, said the jail super.
Osman Sheikh fell ill and was vomiting around 8:00 pm yesterday (March 17, 2022). He was taken to Natore Sadar Hospital but died later, he said.
Osman, a resident of Dighapatiya village of the Sadar upazila, was convicted by a mobile court on March 14 in connection with a drug case.
Confirming their deaths, Dr Paritosh Kumar Roy, assistant director of Natore Sadar Hospital, said the bodies will be handed over to their families after autopsies.
