Two held over murder of trader

Police yesterday arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a trader in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj on Tuesday.

Following tip offs, police teams raided Mizmizi and Al-Amin Nagar areas, and arrested Jubayer Hossain, 22 and Md Mridul, 20.

Both the arrestees are residents of Mizmizi Batanpara area, said SP Golam Mostofa Russel of Narayanganj district police at a press briefing.

The arrestees are accused in several other cases. A motorcycle used in the incident was also recovered from their possession, he added.

On Tuesday evening, Akkas Shikder, a 45-year-old vegetable trader of Mizmizi, was stabbed to death by four muggers on his way to a market in the capital's Jatrabari.

"We are now trying to locate the two others involved in the crime," the SP said.
