Two arrested over rape of 10-year-old in Narayanganj

Police have arrested an accused rapist and his associate after the victim's father filed a case with Araihazar Police Station this morning.

The arrestees are Delwar Hossain (40) of Krishnapura area, and his associate Kajli Begum (24) of Duptora area in the upazila.

Citing the case statement, Sub-inspector Arif Hossain said that the 10-year-old child was returning home from a madrasa around 8:00pm last night. Kajli took the girl to her house and Delwar later raped her, the SI added.

Araihazar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Zobayer Hossain said that after the arrest, Delwar and Kajli were sent to jail through the court.

The victim was admitted to Narayanganj General Hospital for treatment and examination, the inspector said.
