Teenage girl found dead at husband’s house in Jashore

A teenage girl was found dead at her husband's house in Jashore's Monirampur upazila today.

The deceased was identified as Sanzida Akhter (14), wife of Omar Faruk in Shyamkur village in Monirampur upazila, reports our Benapole correspondent.

On information by locals, police recovered the victim's body early today and sent it to Jashore General Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Akhtarul Islam, sub-inspector of Monirampur Police Station.

The victim's father Babul Hossain said Sanzida had an argument with her husband a month ago. Following the argument, her husband's family strangled her to death, he said.

SI Akhtarul Islam further said they primarily believe it is not suicide and they found dark marks on her neck.

The victim's husband Omar Faruk and his family members went into hiding snice the incident, the police official added.
