Teenage boy killed in clash at shrine

A teenage boy was stabbed to death and four others were injured in a clash at a local shrine in Netrakona's Kendua upazila early on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sumon Mia (16) of Chitholia village in the upazila, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting police.

Some eight boys of Chitholia village went to neighbouring Saguli village to attend an annual programme organised at the shrine, said Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Kendua Police Station.

At one stage, the boys locked in clashes and five of them sustained injuries, he also said.

They were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where Sumon, who sustained stab injuries, died around 3:00am, the OC added.
