In connection with the murder, Md Ishfaqul Hossain, the registrar of the university, filed a murder case against some unidentified persons at the Jalalabad Police Station last night.

This morning at 11am, students formed a human chain in front of the central library of the campus. A protest procession was organised later. The students placed a four-point demand.

The demands are to arrest the people involved in Bulbul's murder within the next 24 hours and bring them under the law and impose maximum punishment; ensure proper compensation to the family of the deceased as well as clearly specify the amount and method of payment; ensure maximum security on the campus and build a monument at the place where Bulbul was killed to honour his memory; and announcing a place called Bulbul Chattar.
