Second Rohingya killed in Cox’s Bazar camp in two days
A day after a Rohingya refugee was shot dead in Cox's Bazar Ukhiya camp, another Rohingya youth was hacked to death today (September 22, 2022).
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ershad (22), son of Yusuf Jalil of I-Block of Kutupalong Extended-4 Rohingya camp in Ukhiya, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohammad Ali.
"The murder took place at the extension of camp no 4 in the Kutupalong area of Ukhiya just after midnight today. Miscreants hacked Ershad leaving him severely injured and fled the scene," he added.
Police recovered Ershad in an injured state and took him to a hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Yesterday, a 35-year-old Rohingya refugee Jafar, who used to work as a volunteer in guarding the camp, was murdered in the Ukhiya Rohingya camp.
