Science Lab violence: Gayeshwar among 16 BNP leaders granted HC bail
The High Court today granted six weeks' anticipatory bail to 16 BNP leaders, including its standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, in two cases.
The cases were filed with New Market and Dhanmondi police stations on May 24 in connection with attacking law enforcers, preventing them from discharging their duties, vandalism, and violence during the road march of the BNP in Science Lab area on May 23.
The other 15 leaders, who secured anticipatory bail, include its International Affairs Secretary Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim, Dhaka North City BNP Convener Abdus Salam, Gazipur District President Fazlul Haque Milan and Jubo Dal President Sultan Salauddin Tuku.
The HC also ordered the BNP leaders to surrender before the lower court concerned in six weeks.
The HC bench passed the orders following two petitions filed by the BNP men seeking bail.
