Criminals looted Tk 5 lakh from the showroom named Eden Autos after stabbing two of its staff that evening, according to a case filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
The Rab official said the gang having 8 to 12 members used to extort owners of under-construction houses and different shops, using the names of top criminals hiding abroad. They would make phone calls using international numbers demanding money.
They carried out the robbery at Eden Autos as its owner denied to pay extortion money, Moin said.
