A Dhaka court today (July 28, 2022) again rejected a bail petition of Chandra Shekhar Haldar Milton, an officer of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), in connection with question leak for recruitment exams of DSHE in May this year.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain passed the order after Milton's lawyer moved a petition, seeking bail in the case.

Earlier on July 25, 2022 detectives arrested Milton from Segunbagicha area in the capital.

He was later placed on a one-day remand for quizzing over the incident. After the remand ended, he was sent to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj yesterday (July 27, 2022).

Chandra Shekhar is an officer of education cadre from the 31st Bangladesh Civil Service.

With him, six persons have been arrested so far in the case filed with Lalbagh Police Station.

The recruitment exam for the post of "office assistant/computer operator" of DSHE was held at 61 centres in Dhaka on May 13 aiming to fill up 513 vacancies.

The Detective Branch started the investigation after an examinee named Md Sumon Jomadder (30) was arrested during the test from the capital's Eden College centre on that day. The officials later found that the question papers were leaked by Chandra Shekhar through WhatsApp.
