UP polls candidate murder: 3 including union chairman sent to jail in Pabna
A Pabna court today sent to jail three people, including Bharara union parishad chairman, in connection with the murder of an independent chairman candidate Yasin Alam.
Pabna District Sessions Judge's Court Judge Md Asaduzzaman passed the order rejecting bail petitions of three accused -- Bharara UP chairman Abu Sayeed Khan, Nader Biswas and Somor, said Public Prosecutor Abdus Samad Khan Ratan.
Earlier in the day, five accused of the murder case appeared before the court and sought bail.
Later, the court granted bail to two other accused -- Alam and Shamsul Alam.
On December 11, Yasin Alam, independent chairman candidate of Bharara UP election was killed during polls violence.
The deceased's family filed a case accusing chairman Abu Sayeed, who was nominated by Awami League in the election, and 33 other named people.
