Police-BNP activists clash in Bhola: Injured JCD leader dies
Noor-e-Alam, president of Bhola district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) -- the BNP-backed student wing -- died while undergoing treatment at Comfort Hospital in Dhaka.
He succumbed to his injuries around 3:00pm today (August 3, 2022), Golam Nabi Alamgir, president of BNP's Bhola district unit, told our Barishal correspondent.
He was critically injured when BNP activists clashed with law enforcers in Bhola town district on Sunday (July 31, 2022), Golam Nabi said.
He left behind his wife and a five-year-old daughter, said a source at the district unit of BNP. Noor-e Alam died three days after a member of Swechchasebak Dal died on the spot in the clash with police on Saturday (July 30, 2022).
The clash occurred during a BNP led procession which was part of the party's countrywide programme protesting the power crisis and price spiral of essentials.
