Petition seeks HC directives to recover PWD house from AL MP Murshedy

A Supreme Court lawyer today (October 30, 2022) filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking necessary directives to recover a house allegedly occupied by ruling Awami League lawmaker from Khulna-4 constituency Abdus Salam Murshedy in Gulshan illegally.
Lawyer Syed Sayedul Haque Suman submitted the petition as a public interest litigation also requesting the HC to direct the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to dispose of the application he placed on August 11 for conducting an inquiry into this issue and taking necessary steps against the persons involved in handover the property of the public works department (PWD) to Absus Salam Murshedy.
Citing the petition, Sayedul Haque Suman told The Daily Star that he collected documents through different sources including social media and found that the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha has given the ownership of the luxurious house of public works department to Abdus Salam Murshedy, lawmaker from Khulna-4 constituency and senior vice-president of Bangladesh Football Federation by making forged documents.
"I have submitted an application to the Anti-Corruption Commission on August 11 for taking appropriate action through conducting an inquiry into this issue. However, the commission is yet to settle my application and that is why, I filed the writ petition with the High Court seeking necessary directives," he said.
Sayedul Haque Suman said hearing of the writ petition might be held before the HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat Lizu on Tuesday (November 1, 2022).
