Pabna BCL men arrested for beating up on-duty cop
Two local Chhatra League men were arrested today for beating up an on-duty policeman in Pabna.
The arrestees are Ashikur Rahman Akash, 24, vice president of Maligasa Union unit BCL and his friend Hasib Ali, 29, an activist of BCL. Both of them hail from Mozidpur Haatpara in the Maligasa union of Pabna.
Ashish Kumar Shannal, officer-in-charge of Pakshey Highway Police Station, said a team of highway police halted Akash and Hasib in the Tebunia area on the Pabna-Rajshahi highway in Pabna Sadar upazila on Thursday afternoon as they were riding a bike without helmets.
