OC Pradeep’s wife Chumki surrenders in court, denied bail

Wife of former OC of Teknaf Police Station, Pradeep Kumar Das, Chumki Karan surrendered before a Chattogram court today in a corruption case.

Chumki surrendered in the court of Chittagong Divisional Special Judge Munshi Abdul Majid around 12pm, Anti-Corruption Commission's public prosecutor Mahmudul Haque confirmed to The Daily Star.

"Chumki was absconding since the case was registered. However, she surrendered in the court today and sought bail.  But the court rejected her bail petition," our Chattogram staff correspondent quoted the public prosecutor.

She was being interrogated in the court when this report was filed in the afternoon.
