NHRC must unearth facts behind any incidents of conspiracy: law minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) must unearth the facts behind any incidents of conspiracy against the country, so that appropriate action can be taken against the offenders.
"Conspiracy was hatched centring on BNP's December 10 rally in Dhaka. Many conspiracies will be hatched against the country centring on the next parliamentary elections. Plots will be staged and attempts will be made to convert truth into lies and to make lies into truths," he said.
"The NHRC will have to divulge the facts and recommend taking actions against the criminals. The commission will have to work to prevent violation of human rights of people too," he said.
He made the remark while holding a meeting with the NHRC members led by its Chairman Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed at the ministry office in the secretariat.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government is very sincere to ensure the human rights of people. The government will provide assistance not only to NHRC, but also to other organisations which are working for protecting human rights," he said.
