Narcotics case accused flees from police van in Faridpur
An accused in a narcotics case escaped with handcuffs from a police van in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur today (October 3, 2022).
The accused is Torap Sheikh, 32, who used to live in his father-in-law's house in Sadarbera village of Talma union of Nagarkanda, reports our Faridpur correspondent.
The incident took place around 1pm in Sadarbera area of Talma union, said Habil Hossain, officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nagarkanda Police Station.
He said Torap Sheikh was arrested with drugs from Sadarbera area yesterday afternoon. Later, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Nagarkanda Police Station Abdul Aziz filed a case against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
A police team was taking Torap to the court in a police van from Nagarkanda Police Station around 1pm today.
When the police vehicle reached the area in front of Nuruzzaman Jute Mill in Talma Sadarbera area on the Talma-Nagarkanda road, it came to a halt due to a technical fault.
During this time, Torap escaped with his handcuff on from the van.
