Mother, son found dead of apparent suicide

Police recovered the hanging bodies of a woman and her three-year-old son from their residence in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj yesterday.

Jonaki Akter, 35, was the wife of an expatriate working in Italy Farhad Mia, and Alif Hossain was their only child, police said.

Bhairab Police Station OC Shah Alam Mollah said the bodies were sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Jonaki's family alleged that her in-laws put her through psychological abuse for dowry. Her in-laws fled the house after the incident.
