Mitu murder: Bhola confesses to involvement
Ehteshamul Haque Bhola, an accused in Mahmuda Khanam Mitu murder case, confessed his involvement in the murder before a Chattogram court today.
Metropolitan Magistrate Safi Uddin recorded his confessional statement when he was produced before the court after he was arrested by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) from Benapole of Jashore last night, reports our Chattogram correspondent quoting Inspector Sontosh Kumar Chakma of PBI.
Santosh, also the investigation officer of the case, said Bhola was arrested from Benapole when he was trying to leave the country to avoid arrest.
In the statement, Bhola gave "important information", he said.
On June 5, 2016, Mitu was stabbed and shot dead while she was taking her son to his school bus stop at the port city's GEC intersection. After the murder, her husband SP Babul Akhter filed a case against three unidentified men with Panchlaish Police Station.
Later the case was taken over by PBI from DB of CMP.
