'Member of new militant outfit' arrested in Gazipur

Police have arrested an alleged member of a new militant outfit called Imam Mahmud's Kafela in Gazipur.

Mahtab Islam, 35, of Kaijuri Sreepur village in Pabna, was held in front of the main gate of Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur around 11:30am today, reports our Gazipur Correspondent quoting Konabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge KM Ashraf Uddin.

The arrested admitted that he was a member of a new militant organisation called "Imam Mahmud's Kafela", the OC claimed.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Konabari Police Station Abu Saeed said Mahtab was arrested from the front gate of Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur when he came to meet his wife and brother-in-law.
